Design, Properties, and Opportunities

In our group, we focus on the design of functional nanomaterials based on non-toxic metal compounds for energy conversion and storage applications. We believe it is time to focus research in a new, sustainable direction from the perspective of material chemists who work in retrograde, using an inverse design approach.

For example, in our current search for stable and synthesizable multielement inorganic nanostructures, we are working on alkali metal chalcogenides (which exhibit interesting optoelectronic properties), limiting the material composition to ternary systems.
